Cargo Insurance for Shipments from China
Protect your shipment from China against damage, loss and theft — a real all-risk policy for the full declared value, with clear payout terms.
A shipment from China spends weeks in transit, changing hands between trucks, ports, and warehouses. Most of the time nothing happens — but when a container is dropped, a ship has a bad crossing, or a pallet goes missing, the loss is yours unless the cargo is insured. We arrange a real all-risk policy for the full declared value, with payout terms you can actually read.
This isn't a vague 'we'll do our best' promise buried in freight terms. It's a proper marine cargo policy, priced as a small percentage of your cargo's value, that pays the invoice value of goods damaged, lost, or stolen on the way.
Who this is for
This service is for:
- Importers shipping high-value goods who can't afford to absorb a total loss.
- Buyers whose forwarder only offers limited 'cargo' cover with hidden exclusions.
- Anyone moving fragile or theft-prone goods over long, multi-leg routes.
What we do
- 1
Assess the risk
We review your goods, value and route to set the right cover.
- 2
Declare full value
We insure the real declared value, not a capped amount.
- 3
Issue the policy
We arrange an all-risk policy before the cargo moves.
- 4
Cover the whole route
Door-to-door cover across every leg, including the Poland corridor.
- 5
Handle claims
If something goes wrong, we manage the claim and payout for you.
Coverage levels: ICC (C), (B), (A)
Marine cargo cover comes in standard tiers. We usually recommend all-risk (A) unless the cargo is low-risk bulk.

- Not covered
- Natural events
- Limited

- Low-risk bulk

What an all-risk policy covers
All-risk (ICC A) is the broadest standard cover — it protects against the things that actually go wrong on a long multi-leg route, not just headline disasters.
Cover runs door to door, including the handling points where damage is most likely.
- Physical damage in transit
- Total or partial loss
- Theft and pilferage
- Transport accidents (road, sea, air)
- Fire and explosion
- Natural events and rough handling
- Door-to-door, including loading/unloading
How a claim works
A policy is only as good as its payout. Ours is straightforward: document the damage, submit the proof, get paid up to the declared value.
We help you assemble the claim so it isn't refused on a technicality.
When cargo insurance is worth it
For a small percentage of cargo value, insurance turns a potential total loss into a recoverable one. On some shipments it's close to essential.
If you're unsure, ask — we'll tell you whether your shipment really needs it.
Why it matters
The problem we solve — and how we solve it.
Forwarders' 'cargo' cover quietly excludes breakage and caps payouts far below your goods' value.
We arrange a real all-risk policy for the full declared value.
After a loss, vague terms mean a tiny payout months later — or none at all.
We use policies with clear, documented payout terms and timelines.
Multi-leg routes leave gaps where no one is liable for damage.
We cover the whole door-to-door route, every handover included.

Frequently asked questions
What does cargo insurance cover?
An all-risk (ICC A) policy covers physical damage, total or partial loss, theft, transport accidents, fire, and natural events, door to door, up to the declared value.
Who arranges the policy — me or you?
We arrange it for you as part of the shipment, so you don't need your own marine insurer. The cover and terms are set before the cargo moves.
How much will I be paid if something happens?
Up to the declared value — typically 100% of the invoice value of the affected goods, on a valid claim with the right documents.
What's the difference between ICC A, B, and C?
C covers only major events, B adds named perils, and A is all-risk (the broadest, including theft and handling damage). We usually recommend A.
What do I need to make a claim?
A damage report (act) and photos, plus the commercial invoice. We help you assemble it so it isn't rejected on a technicality.
Is theft covered?
Under all-risk (ICC A), yes; under the lower tiers it may not be, which is why we usually recommend A.
Do I have to insure every shipment?
No, it's optional — but for high-value, fragile, or long-transit cargo it's strongly worth it. We'll advise per shipment.
How much does cargo insurance cost?
Pricing isn't fixed — it depends on the complexity, scope, and resources the job needs. Tell us what you're planning and we'll give you a clear quote up front, with no hidden costs.
